Candress Inspired + Inspiration Exercise

So, I have this friend from Chicago named Candress and she's amaaaaaaaaazing! So stylish and funny. These colors reminded me of her personality and a similar outfit that I've seen her wear. Yes, I get ideas from other people. As a stylist, I find inspiration everywhere. I get inspiration from fashion magazines, the internet, nature, and TV as well. Look for inspiration in the small things! Andy Warhol said it best, "Let the little things that bored you, suddenly fascinate you."

Inspiration Exercise
1. What are the 3 main colors in your wardrobe?

  • If one of those colors, is not your favorite color then you should add a few items that are! (Side Note: My favorite colors are purple and pink! Ha I'm such a princess)
  • Too much black can give off a depressing state! Color is good!!!!
2. Who is your style icon?

  • My style icons are Angela Simmons and La La Anthony.
  • Look your style icon via Google and see what they are wearing.
  • Maybe some of their outfits can inspire you. ☺
3. Who or what makes you smile? Yes, whoever came to your mind first must be pretty awesome to you, so pull some inspiration from them.

4. Optional: If you're still lost, then go to your local thrift store and do a little shopping. Take a small amount of money. No more than $20 and see what type of outfit you can come up with. (Side note: Post pictures below or on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/TheeFashionStories) for others to see. I'd love to help or see some ideas beauties.)

Advice: Beauties, you do not have to dress like any one person or stay in one style! Learn what looks great on you and then run with it! Incorporate a variety of colors, textures, and patterns to your wardrobe for a more eclectic style. It never hurts to go SHOPPING. If you are on a budget, thrift store are pretty awesome. I'm a big fan of Target and online shopping as well. Get out there and explore different stores, shops, boutiques, etc. so that you can find your wardrobe inspiration! Don't let life pass you by, create your own FASHION STORY!

Much Love,
Jas
