Baby Steps to Healthy Living

Source
I have finally decided to push towards a healthy lifestyle. I am going to document my journey here and on my new site. Yes, I said new site! I will be launching my new blog later this summer. It is in the works and it's going to be absolutely fabulous, so stay tuned! Now back to my healthy lifestyle.

A few weeks ago I decided to devote time to myself and eat healthier. I lost 1 pound in two weeks, but decided that I wanted to lose more weight quicker. I went to one session of #VixenBootCamp this past Saturday and it sparked something inside of me. Though I am still sore that workout revived some of my dreams and goals. Finally, here are a few baby steps to healthy living.

Discontentment: Am I Walking the Right Way?

I want more than I see in front of me and it bothers me that I don't know what my future holds. Sure I love fashion, but I don't know that I want this forever. I am not sure if it's the string of personal trials in my life that are making me lose my passion or fate itself.

I know that God put me here to do more than blog and style. He put me here to inspire and to give. I want to be a blessing to other people, specifically young women, and to get more specific young women of color. My problem lately has been finding ways to do that with my busy schedule.

Real Blogger Beauty

A few days ago I ran across a post on Charmingly Styled titled #RealBloggerBeauty and just knew that I had to join the campaign. Real blogger beauty is all about breaking barriers and being honest about flaws. As bloggers we tend to project a somewhat perfect life. The media is full of people doing the same thing, but today I am going to share a little bit of my story because #realbloggerbeauty is important.

I have struggled with finding the perfect weight and size since I was in middle school. Back then I was too tall and skinny, then in high school I wasn't thick enough aka no breasts or booty, now in college I can't keep enough weight off. The battle with the scale sucks and recently my breasts have grown so much that I can't buy cute, cheap bras anymore so there goes another struggle of mine.

Stylist: Cosmorgpolitan

My name is Morgan Ariel Pitts, but you may know me better as @cosmorgpolitan or possibly even Ms. #BlackGirlsWhoBlog. I am a 23-year-old native of the nation's capital who was both raised and educated in Prince George's County, Maryland. In May of 2013, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Maryland, College Park's Robert H. Smith School of Business (Go Terps!). Today, I work as a freelance stylist, life(style) blogger, and founder/creative director of #BlackGirlsWhoBlog. You can mostly likely find me dancing to Beyoncé, obsessing over Hello Kitty, or spending quality time with loved ones.

Where do you see your blog and styling career in the next 3 years?
In the next three years, I see my blog having an official domain and just overall growth. I plan to become a better blogger over the years as well as work with a web/graphic designer for the site's aesthetic. In terms of styling, I see my clientele expanding and building upon my skill set.

How would you describe yourself to style on a day-to-day basis?
On a day-to-day basis, I'd describe my style as versatile more than anything else. I hate putting my look into a box because I feel as though that limits me. One day I might be wearing lace, bunny ears and embellished, platform sandals, and the next day I may be in Nike Flyknit sneakers and a white tee. A guy in college actually told me that I look like a different person every time I see him in terms of style: from Ralph Lauren equestrian, prep to Harajuku Barbie Doll glam.

4 Ways to Smile More

Change your look.
You've been dying to get that pixie cut. What's holding you back? Do it! I loved my short hair, but I got tired of it so I'm trying something new. Lately I've been taking Biotin vitamins to grow my hair out. Recently, I added a few blonde pieces to the front as well. You should go ahead and go through with your big chop or extensive color change. Besides, it's just hair!

Donate your time and resources to those in need.
It is always great to give back! I love working for Show Me Shoes because they honestly give all that they have to the women and girls in the communities that they are a part of. I love speaking with high school girls from the heart of Kansas City because they can relate to me and I can encourage them like tons of women encouraged me. If everyone working to get ahead reaches back to help someone else than this generation could start a positive revolution. Find an organization or cause in your community and get busy!
