Your Dreams Are Valid

Dear Fashion Lover,

I was inspired by Ms. Lupita Nyong'o and countless others to write this post. Lupita's speech about beauty and her journey really made me want to do better. Seeing her accomplish so much as a black woman is really exciting and empowering! So here it goes...

Do NOT lose yourself. Do not push your dreams to the back burner to fulfill the needs of other people. You are important and your aspirations are valid! Your dreams do not need to make sense to anyone in your circle. You are beautiful and you can have the life that you dream about no matter how out of the ordinary it may be. It is easy to lose yourself in the crowd at school, at your job, within your group of friends, or even while in a relationship. Trust me, I've been there. We all want to fit in and be well liked, but as people we are not like cookie cutters with built-in shapes, dreams, or knowledge, instead we are more original like snowflakes that sparkle in the sunlight. So how is it that we find ourselves being lost in the crowd? It is because we believe the lies people tell us that prove our dream to be invalid. What if I told you that your dreams are totally valid and much-needed? That is exactly what I am saying. The world needs your dreams and ambition. If you don't, then who will? Lupita's life changing speech is below.

Bones

Hello Fashion Lovers! This week's interview is with Mr. Bones of BoneHead Clothing Company! Bones was awesome to speak with. He had tons of great business tips and career insight. I really appreciated Bones' love and knowledge of art. It is not everyday that you come across a designer invested or interested in ancient cultures to create fresh, modern looks. I loved the fact that Bones was honest and detailed with his answers. My interview with Bones was chill and very informative. Keep scrolling to read more about Bones of BoneHead Clothing Company.

Where do you work? What is your occupation?
I am a full-time father and worker. I work for Target selling cell phones during the day and I work full-time for myself, BoneHead Clothing, at night. I am the  founder, designer, and creative director of BoneHead Clothing Company. BoneHead Clothing launched on November 29, 2013. My partner and sales representative is Mr. Aaron Jordan. He is more of the suit and tie guy of BoneHead Clothing.

What was your motivation behind starting BoneHead Clothing?
My motivation  behind starting BoneHead Clothing was seeing the grind behind other brands. Mark really inspired me to keep going. MADE was the first local brand to start and a lot of success. Other designers inspired me as well. Kanye West was also a big motivator for me. I like his style. I love style as a whole and the art of dress. I love the art of fashion. I do not care for labels anymore. I also pulled a lot inspiration from Zummies.

Antonia Martin

I am so excited to share this week's interview with you all. Antonia Martin is a fellow blogger and a good friend of mine. Her drive and goals are really inspiring. If I need someone to help me get focus or think outside of the box, then I can definitely depend on her. When I think of what it takes to succeed as a blogger, it's more than just talent. You have to be nice and bold enough to reach out to people. Antonia is all of those things and more. It has been a pleasure watching her blog grow and seeing her grow as a woman. Go ahead and dive into this interview with Miss Antonia Martin of Curvaceous City!

What is the purpose of your blog?
My blog is to inspire women to view themselves as important or special. I want to change the course of the world through women if we value ourselves as beautiful women and less as bad women. We can encourage our men and children to be better.
