Stylist: Cosmorgpolitan

My name is Morgan Ariel Pitts, but you may know me better as @cosmorgpolitan or possibly even Ms. #BlackGirlsWhoBlog. I am a 23-year-old native of the nation's capital who was both raised and educated in Prince George's County, Maryland. In May of 2013, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Maryland, College Park's Robert H. Smith School of Business (Go Terps!). Today, I work as a freelance stylist, life(style) blogger, and founder/creative director of #BlackGirlsWhoBlog. You can mostly likely find me dancing to Beyoncé, obsessing over Hello Kitty, or spending quality time with loved ones.

Where do you see your blog and styling career in the next 3 years?
In the next three years, I see my blog having an official domain and just overall growth. I plan to become a better blogger over the years as well as work with a web/graphic designer for the site's aesthetic. In terms of styling, I see my clientele expanding and building upon my skill set.

How would you describe yourself to style on a day-to-day basis?
On a day-to-day basis, I'd describe my style as versatile more than anything else. I hate putting my look into a box because I feel as though that limits me. One day I might be wearing lace, bunny ears and embellished, platform sandals, and the next day I may be in Nike Flyknit sneakers and a white tee. A guy in college actually told me that I look like a different person every time I see him in terms of style: from Ralph Lauren equestrian, prep to Harajuku Barbie Doll glam.

Style Blogger and Fashion Stylist: Lawrence B. Spivey

Last month was all about Girl Power and this month is all about Positivity here at Thee Fashion Stories! I am starting out May with my interview with Mr. Lawrence B. Spivey, Owner and Creative Director for Sir Byron Laurent Style and Fashion Consulting. This interview has been a long time coming and I am amped to release it! Lawrence is a talented style blogger and fashion stylist who specializes in the men's department. He pays close attention to detail when styling clients and himself as well. I am honored to have had the privilege of interviewing Mr. Lawrence B. Spivey. He is one of the first bloggers that I have interviewed, and the first male blogger that I have met!

Sit back, grab a smoothie, and indulge yourself in this stylish interview

What was your motivation for starting your styling and consulting business?
I wanted to provide a medium for men and women to not only find out what latest trends are in men’s fashion but also educate people on style basics. I want to inspire people to find their own unique style to share with the world. Within the next five years I look to have additional consultants on my team as well as doing my own style television show.

Michele Tucker

Michele Denise Tucker is a 21 years old makeup artist and stylist. I ran across her page on Instagram and was very impressed with her work. She is currently attending  Maple Woods Community College, and plans to attend UMKC next year. Michele is currently majoring in business management, and considering minoring in fashion merchandising. She currently works for Michael Kors. Michele is a trendy fashionista with a love for Chanel and Michael Kors. Keep reading to learn more about this fashion forward and oh so gorgeous young woman!

What was your motivation behind starting your career?
My motivation came from watching different reality TV shows that focused on women who were head strong, and loved fashion. My main shows were Life in the Fab Lane which was about Kimora Lee Simmons, and her brand. Then I would also watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians. They had their own businesses, and personal sense of style. They did not try to be like anyone else, but instead they started new trends. That is how I go about my personal style and life decisions.

Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration from fashion bloggers, and also make-up artist that I follow on Instagram. For make-up ideas I get ideas from @makeupshayla, @amrezy, and @desimakeup. They are three best friends who are extremely well known artist, and they never fail to amaze me. For fashion tips I look up to @caraloren, and @fashionhippieloves. Their blogs contain pictures of outfits they put together that follow current trends, and they have links that take to sites containing the merchandise they are wearing. They also have alternatives items that are similar, but yet more affordable.

My Weekend + Real Talk

Hello Fashion Lovers!

This weekend was super action packed and exciting for me! On Friday afternoon, I started out by speaking at Hogan Preparatory Academy in Kansas City, Missouri about fashion blogging. It was really good to see some of the students that I worked with this past summer in attendance. I was honored when my mentor, Crystal Ward, asked me to speak at Hogan Prep's Career Day. Ms. Ward was my teacher 7 years ago and today she is still heavily involved with educating our youth. She is even in school earning her doctoral degree from the great University of Missouri! Her passion for educating children is evident and inspiring.

Passion is the force that drives purpose. Your purpose will never lead you somewhere that you aren't passionate about. I guess that's why I am still fashion blogging after countless times of "giving up." I love what I do. I love meeting business owners who have drive and faith in their dreams. Passion and drive are essential for anyone who wants to be successful!

Brand Review: House of Rena

House of Rena Infinity Scarves Collection
Have you heard of the House of Rena brand before? If you follow my blog, I'm sure that you have heard me mention pieces from the House of Rena Collection often. Designer Eranne Whiters is a young, gifted college graduate who was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. I did a personal interview on Miss Eranne Whiter here.

House of Rena Pants
So what does House of Rena consists of? House of Rena is an accessory line featuring headbands, scarves, totes, turbans, lapels, and bow ties. Miss Whiters also makes custom pieces as well. She specializes in dresses, pants, and jackets, etc. House of Rena accessories are cute and affordable. Nothing in the accessory collection is over $20. Did I mention that House of Rena accessories are versatile? I style my turban during the day and sometimes use it as a headscarf at night. I can honestly say that I am in love with the House of Rena Collection.

My favorite accessory that House of Rena offered for the summer is my polka dot turban. But for the fall, I am looking forward to rocking my stripe infinity scarf. My scarf is soft and hugs gently around my neck. I can tell that Miss Eranne Whiters took her time creating my scarf. But wait there's more.... did I mention that I bought a House of Rena headband as well? It's floral and there are more online here. I have yet to wear it because I am waiting for the prefect hairstyle. When you have short hair you can't just throw on a headband. Which is another reason why I am thinking about growing my hair back out. (That's a whole other story!)
House of Rena Bowtie

So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and head on over to www.EffortlessStyleKC.com to learn more about House of Rena and designer Eranne Whiters! It was my pleasure working with Eranne Whiters this summer and can't wait to see more of her work! I know for a fact that she works hard and has what it takes to make it to the top. Be on the lookout for more from House of Rena!

News: House of Rena has a spread in Lo'Cal Fashion Magazine's first issue, which is scheduled to launch in January 2014. You can keep up with House of Rena designer Eranne Whiters via Instagram @Eldubent or on Twitter @Eldubent! Stay fly, fresh, and get some House of Rena accessories in the process. Be blessed!

Check out how I styled my House of Rena turban in a few photos below. I will be posting more looks in my other House of Rena accessories this fall. Bigger and greater things are in store this fall. Be on the lookout for a TheeFashionStories.com and House of Rena collaboration. I support the House of Rena brand 100% because it is authentic and high in quality. I salute you for being a great designer and friend to me Miss Eranne Whiters! I can't wait to see you take the fashion industry by storm!

Much Love,
Jas
